We are delighted to launch our latest indigenous collection from Warlukurlangu, a long-running Aboriginal-owned art centre in Central Australia. Featuring work from Judy Napangardi Watson and Mary Anne Nampijunpa Michaels, who convey a deep connection to the land the stories that emerge from it through their artwork.
Warlukurlangu Artists stands as one of Central Australia's enduring and successful indigenous-owned art centers. Located in the communities of Yuendumu and Nyirripi, and it plays a vital role in bringing these communities together through art. The name "Warlukurlangu" carries deep cultural significance as it signifies "belonging to fire" in the local Warlpiri language. This name pays homage to a fire dreaming site located to the west of Yuendumu.
