Anna-Carin McNamara is a Swedish- born, Sydney-based interior designer who specialises in high-end residential Scandinavian interiors. She is passionate about connecting the Scandinavian principles of simplicity, functionality and sustainability with Australian architecture and lifestyle.
Anna-Carin’s first rug collection FORSA is the embodiment cross-cultural pollination. Traditionally, nomadic rug designs were often inspired by a myth or a poem and the rug would reinforce and illustrate the story. As a modern nomad, each of Anna-Carin's designs tells a story from her childhood. Each
design recounts a childhood recollection, abstracted and renewed.
"One year “Gudrun” visited us. She was a hurricane and she tore down almost all of our forest. Once collected, all the logs were stored in tall piles and watered continuously to stop the bugs from attacking the timber." - Anna Carin
When you buy a new rug, you’re making an investment in your home, your space, and your style, and you want it to look perfect in your room.
In addition to finding a rug that compliments the style and function of your space and your own personal taste, you’re also going to want to account for considerations of size, shape and placement.
We’ve created a simple guide to consider when making your rug purchase.
Learn moreWe advise professional cleaning for all our rugs.
Vacuum regularly - we do not recommend using rotating or
brush head vacuum cleaners on any of our rugs, or vacuum
cleaners with a very strong suction.
Clean spills immediately. Never rub a spill, instead blot any
liquids with a dry absorbent white cloth or white paper towel. If
in doubt, please seek professional advice from our Preferred
Cleaner Network.
Do not steam clean or dry-clean your rug, and avoid harsh
chemicals. Our rugs are not machine-washable.
Direct sunlight will cause fading - avoid direct exposure to
sunlight.

Anna-Carin travelled back into her ancestry for her second rug collection - NORSE. Her inspiration comes from the first system of writing developed by the Norse peoples: the Runes. Each rune was an ideographic or pictographic symbol of some cosmological principle or power, and to write a rune was to invoke and direct the force for which it stood. Each rug holds a special meaning and belief behind it. Through this collection she invokes the force of the earth goddess, wealth, respite and family unity into the homes where these rugs lie.
