The dynamic synergy between Designer Rugs’ expertise and Akira’s trademark breathtaking yet understated designs, has been actualised in our third collaboration. In this collaboration - named HIRAMEKI, meaning ‘Inspiration’ - Akira’s striking creations reference his current catwalk collections. Akira’s love of exploring the juxtaposition between his traditional Japanese heritage and the celebration of Australia’s love of colour, has translated into some exquisite pieces. "Shibori means twist in English. It is a tie dye textile. This fabric had a floral and wave motif that was created by the Shibori technique. It also originates from Kyoto, Japan." - Akira
