This year, Salone De Mobile turned 50 years young and with five days on the ground to explore Europe's premier design exhibition, Designer Rugs' newly appointed National Sales Manager Monica Del Rosario discovered it is much more than just another design show.

Salone comprised the 2011 Milan Furniture Fair, Zona Tortona and Ventura Lambrate. Monica also took the opportunity to visit showrooms in the Brera Design District which showcased seasonal trends and cutting edge designs form Europe's most established design houses.

Salone was an endless sprawl of exhibitions full of contrasting designs, colours and textures, and to whittle the impressions down to just a few sentences is somewhat impossible!
