Sara Maree Pron, Napean Design Centre TAFE Diploma of Interior Design student, has won ‘Floored 2010'.
Lidcombe Design Interior Design and Decoration students Abeer Al-Attar, Lazare Nyembo, Krupi Kapadia and second year Product Design student Alexander Arias, received price money from Designer Rugs and as her prize, Sara Maree received her manufactured rug valued at $2,400.
TAFE NSW - South Western Sydney Institute Director, Peter Roberts, says he is extremely proud of Lidcombe Design and their achievements.
"Having such a high number of finalists in a state competition reflects the exceptional creative talent of our design students and the high standards of teaching delivered at Lidcombe Design" Mr Roberts said.
Judged by Designer Rugs Director, Mr Yosi Tal and senior designer Ms Christine McDonald the five final designs were selected due to their use of colour, shape and viable design aesthetic for the 2011 interior market.
"We are very impressed with the industry standard of the designs and dramatic use of colour. The 2010 finalists were selected due to their creative thinking and innovation. All short listed rugs were of a commercial industry standard," Mr Tal said.
