The who's who of Auckland's design, media and fashion industry came together to support Designer Rugs' charity event: Fashion Designs Rugs NZ. Which became the unoffical launch event to Air NZ Fashion week for 2008.

Designer Rugs together with fashion labels- Zambesi, Crane Brothers, State of Grace, Cybele, Nom D and World each designed a one- off collectors rugs which was auctioned online for each designers chosen charity.

The event was held at Designer Rugs showroom in Parnell, Auckland with partners Mint Kitchen, Home NZ Magazine, Corporate Culture, Deutz and Perroni.
