Heralding a new chapter in Australian design, two-time Academy Award® winner and globally renowned production and costume designer, Catherine Martin has partnered with Designer Rugs to launch the first installment of her eponymous homewares range.
Through her investigation of Australiana and in celebration of native flora and fauna, children's patterns and Lace designs, Catherine effortlessly combines unusual and striking elements so they work together in a sophisticated and complementary way.
The Catherine Martin range includes eight designs in the standard size 200 x 300 cm, all hand- tufted in 100% New Zealand wool. All designs can be custom coloured and sized.
Suitable for residential and commercial applications.
Two-time Academy Award® winner Catherine Martin is a globally renowned Production and Costume Designer. Her unique approach to design is featured in Baz Luhrmann's Strictly Ballroom, William Shakespeare's Romeo+Juliet, Moulin Rouge! and recently released Australia.
Catherine is one of Australia's pre-eminent film designers, though her design and visual prowess extends well beyond sets and costumes for film. Catherine has won a Tony Award® for her production design of Baz Luhrmann's opera, La Boheme on Broadway. She also designed and oversaw the creation of the stunning world featured in Luhrmann's Chanel No5 TV and cinema campaign starring Nicole Kidman.
Catherine's broad design experience also includes posters, promotional merchandise, fine prints, logos and now her eponymous homewares range, which she has created in partnership with Designer Rugs and Porter's Paints.
